A while ago I posted about an item which had been missing in the post for about 3 weeks. In the end I decided to give the buyer a refund whilst getting my own refund sorted with royal mail. As it happened, about 3 days later (as I was about to post the claim to RM) I got the parcel returned to me, with a sticker on saying that the item was returned as the recipient didn't collect it. I have been in touch with the buyer again and she states that the definately didn't have any card left to say a parcel was waiting for them. Consequently I am now out of pocket for the Ebay fees AND the postage (so a total of about £5) (in addition to having a pair of interactive remote controlled tanks lying around which are of no use to me!)
Does anyone think it would be worthwhile trying to still claim the postage charge back from RM? and is there any way I can claim the fees back from Ebay?
All suggestions greatfully received!

I dont think the RM will entertain you but you might still be able to get your fees back from ebay if you chose the option that you mutually decided not to go through with the transaction.
The PO are notoriously bad at leaving postcards for parcels its always worth asking the buyer to call the sorting office & confirm if theyre holding any parcels.0 -
I can honestly say that one day I was in all day waiting for a parcel and it never turned up!..Phoned RM and it was in their sorting office!. So I now dont trust RM with any parcels of valueNeed to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me0

I was once left a card and when Iwent to collect my parcel there were three others waiting for me.
The girl had recognised my name and address and put them with the carded item.
The postman had not carded any of the other goods.
I was fuming, especially as I had recieved a refund from one seller, so I contacted them and paid them back.
If a buyer says they haven't recieved the goods do please ask them to check their sorting office first.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

the one that gets me is when the postman leaves you a card rather than actually ring your bell!
doesn't happen here but when i was in glasgow this happened to me at least twice a month. i finally reported the postie and shortly thereafter got a nice new one who was brilliant... guess i wasn't the only person he was doing this too!
the thing i didn't get was that i was in an open close so he didn't even have to wait at the door for me to buzz him in or anything, he just never bothered to knock! i was almost always home as i was working and studying at home!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

That happens to me all the time - that is the worst!0 -
RM seem to be getting worse with not leaving cards. The company i work for is internet based and we get at least 1 package per day (out of an average 40) saying item not called for and when the buyer phones up they say there was no card left.
A courier company that we use are actually starting to make their posties take photos as they leave the card (to make sure that 1 is left.)

Having worked in a Royal Mail sorting office one summer I'm amazed ANY post gets to our doors.... Having said that my other half worked for City Link and I'm also amazed how many of their parcels arrive safely... (the stories I heard paint a picture of morons leading idiots, sorry to any CityLink employees).0
