Back to the original query, there something in Ebay's T&C's that states that negative feedback should only be left after trying to resolve any problems first. The buyer entered into this contract when they bought your item, and is thus liable for a claim as a result of their illegal defamotory action.
The costs you would be claiming are for future anticipated losses (reduction of sale price / no sale) for a period of 6 months or so.

I think it is taking ebay way too serious to be considering paying a solicitor oodles of money to prove defamation merely to have a negative removed. I can't say I am that bothered myself.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. "I would love to be able to trust all buyers - but i'm afraid you just can't."
Start with just one.

The truth is usually an acceptable defense however.0 -

Raaaaaaaarghhhhhhh.........
Just got a PP payment from an unverified, despite the auction listing stating I would only post to a verified address. Sent an email via ebay explaining why I had refunded and would they please verify then re-send the money, only to find that they've simply re-sent the money, asked for help in how to verify and then said 'I've had this problem before...'
So they knew that they were not verified but bid anyway..*scream*It aint over til I've done singing....0 -

being verified/unverified doesn't matter, neither does having a confirmed/unconfirmed address0 -

Don't even need a confirmed address anymore, all that matetr sis that it shows as eligible for seller protection when you log into paypal.
Lucky really as my paypal account which should be completely verified and confirmed suddenly shows as unconfirmed..as does many accounts of people that I know.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
