Using Cashminder account before BR

I have opened a co-op Cashminder account and am planning on going BR in March - I am worried about my existing DDs not getting paid on time - eg home/car/pet insurance/internet/phone and mortgage etc. My current account with my existing bank will no doubt be frozen and i was wondering if it would be ok to get my wages paid and transfer my DDs over to the Cashminder in time for end of Feb (wages go in on last day of month) - to do this after BR would create real problems getting things paid. Anyone, any ideas about this? Thanks in advance:)

Hi Jellygirl,
You should be fine with getting your wages and DDs transferred before BR - just put on the BR forms that that's the account you set up to use after BR and the OR will have no interest in it. Just make sure there's not a huge amount of cash in it the day you go BR! CBx0 -
As long as you just use the account for income/bills there should be no problem in doing that.I have only known one person get their cashminder account frozen in over 16 mths on this forum.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

You can start transferring them over now. When you go BR let the OR know you opened this account for post BR use.

Hi fyp (and hi dalip, too!), thanks for asking, OD's been poorly recently (man-flu:rolleyes:, but with a really nasty chesty cough -:p yuk!) He hasn't been on here for a while as he's busy applying for jobs. No luck yet, getting a bit depressing really! He's still working as a driving instructor, but just not getting enough work in - I guess folks can't afford to pay for lessons so much at the moment! Also can't afford to pay for advertising:o and as we don't have a decision from the OR as to whether he can keep the car or not yet, we don't want to shell out and waste money!
Jellygirl - sorry to hijack your thread!!:o0 -
