Safe Disposal of straightners

hi,

The wires for my straightners came exposed at the join between the straightners and the wires ... does anyone know how you are supposed to safely/environmentally dispose of them?

Thanks

Jen

Take them to the local dump (sorry I mean Civic Amenity and Recycling Centre) and put them in the small eletrical items bin, with the toasters kettles and irons etc.

Or try finding a eletrical repair shop and getting the wire replaced, even better for the enviroment.

Or just chuck them in the bin!!

In the standard non-recycleable rubbish
I usually remove the plug from any broken electrical goods. If it's a moulded plug then i remove the fuse (for spares if it's not blown), and then whack it with a club hammer to bend the pins so that a kid can't stick it into a socket again if they got hold of it. If it's a wireable plug i keep it as a spare.

I'm not sure theyre repairable .... its a common thing with straigtners, particularly cheap nasty ones such as these. I thought there might be a way of disposing of these things in a enviromentally friendly way.

I wil just put them in the normal waste with the plug removed which I will put in another bin ...

    Thanks

As MX5huggy has already posted above, your local council tip / waste centre should offer a drop off point for small appliances. They should dismantle and recycle what they can.
