Moving house on a Showstring

Hi
My husband is going to be going to University in September 2010 and it looks like we'l be moving to follow him to where his degree will be.
We will be moving from Yorkshire to either the South West or to East Anglia - depends where he gets in. Hopefully the debts should be more or less gone so we will hopefully have some spare cash to move, but obviously not a lot
Does anyone have any tips for moving. Which removal company to use....if any. We'll be renting to start off with so not too much deposit required and we'll hopefully get it all back from this. Just wondering how much to start putting aside. We're hoping for a baby around then too so going to be hectic so trying to prepare.
Thanks and hope it's not too confusing.

I'd recommend getting quotes from removal companies and then finding out how much it would cost to just move yourselves. Lots of vanhire places will let you pick up at one depot and drop off at another which might work out well. And if you go with the latter option then rope in as many friends/relatives/neighbours/persons passing in the street as you can. Don't be shy to ask for help shifting stuff around.0
