Sofa

Hi there

We need a new sofa - our current 2 seater manual reclining fabric sofa is ripped (have sewn rips up but it does not help - has a throw on it now!) and also we find nuts and bolts falling off the thing! it is ancient so is in need of being replaced.

Can anyone suggest where to look for a good bargain - we have £700 saved for the sofa and would like either another recliner in leather or a big comfy 2 seater and single chair and pouffe...

Today we looked at DFS/Harveys/Land of leather and SCS and of all of them only SCS had something almost nice... I have also looked on e-Bay but nothing!

To add to the problem - I am reluctant to spend too much as we rent the house currently - the lounge is an odd shape hence we can only look at 2 seater... and when we buy in 3 years I do not really fancy sitting on a tiny sofa in a large lounge!

Does anyone know of any other places I can look - perhaps sample type places? I work in retail but even with our sale on furniture and my staff discount it is not worth it! grrrr
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

What about any local/independent furniture retailers rather than the big boys who spend loads on advertising on the TV? They might have just what you're looking for. We live in a rural part of N.Wales but within a 1.5 hour drive we have access to a few independent stores who I would prefer over the big names.

Thanks for that - I was going to pay Cash and Credit Card and possibly Debit card too but will certainly transfer the funds and Christmas money onto the Credit Card!

I have seen one sofa I really like but it is £99 over the £700 budget and its JUST a sofa so no pouffe or footstool or single chair... but if we are going to spend that kind of money it may as well be what we like... perhaps with my NSD challenge I will save a bit in January and see what is still out there!
