Am looking for a new duvet - 13.5 tog or above. Have narrowed it down to a Merrino wool or ultimate 100% Hungarian duck down. Which would be better - any experience/ comments ?
Thanks

I have a Hungarian 100% GOOSEdown duvet, no feathers, only down, got it at John lewis and one of the best things I ever bought. I am told that a good natural filled duvet will outlast any others and is washable in a large machine, however I am very careful with mine and I do not intend washing it for a long time.
It is so light and lovely and warm. I also bought a summer weight one 4.5tog.0 -
I have both. I prefer the wool one, as it keeps me warm without me getting overheated (if you are menopausal or suffer with night sweats, trust me, this is the one for you!)
However, I do find that it is too light weight for winter - then I use the hungarian goose down one OVER the wool one... but then I do feel the cold in winter
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

The thing is, you have to let the goosedown duvet drape over your body to keep you warm, mine is a 13.5 tog and I live on the Northeast coast and keep my window open even in winter and I am still warm and cosy. Also menopausal and have to kick my legs out occasionally;)0
