Any New Year Traddition?

Hi I have decided to start a new years tradition in my house. My DD is going to get another present lol. I am going to buy her a diary so she can keep a journal of what she has been doing. As she is only 5 it will most likely be a scrap book type thing, that I will help her with.
I was just wondering if you have any traditions in your house?

That's a lovely, lovely, lovely idea! We don't tend to have traditions - everyone else in my family is 'sick of it all' by then, but i'd love to have one. I think it's really special and they're ideas that your family can pass through the generations. I always take time on New Year's eve to reflect on the previous year and set goals for the year ahead. I think about areas where i can improve my life -relationships, health, work... - and set goals with the intention of having a more balanced life. It doesn't always work but it does re-focus me on what's important in my life.Just £10,852.28p to go...

Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
And then do it.0 -
I set goals too, and dnt worry I never stick to mine either. Although saying that I want to improve my relationship with my little girl.:wave: Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0

We don;t have traditions but I have made myself a journal and intend to makea note of what happens in my life etc. Other years I've done this and its been a bit non-eventful, the years I don't bother all sorts of things happen..so we'll see. But there's bound to be something, a thought or feeling I have about something/anything that might be worth noting.
I started it off with a short run down of events leading up to Christmas -OH's slight mishap with his specs, hurting his leg, visiting grandchildren etc.
I always make new year resolutions too...............this time I must make them more realistic then I may just be able to stick to them.Mary

I've given up making that one-maybe if I don't tell myself I must, then I just might do it.
Mine are usually
To be more organised (I say that every year -one year it'll work surely)
Keep in touch with people more often -write more letters
De-clutter and stay de-cluttered -dont keep things for the sake of it
There will be more but not too many otherwise I'll never manage it............lolMary

I write a letter to my lovely husband - kind of renewing/rewriting our wedding vows for him to open on new years day. I list all the things I love about him, all the things I'm looking forward to in the next year and remaking some of the promises we made when we got married.
I also write each of my children a letter for them to open each new year's day telling them how proud of them we are and reminding them of all the good times we had during the past year, and listing the things we have to look forward to in the next year. When they are small I make it like a book with pictures on each page and a little bit of writing but as they get bigger it becomes more of a letter.0 -
