Keypad not working on new laptop - help please!

Hi all - just got a new laptop and some of the keys on the keypad won't work without me having to 'jab' them a few times. Is this normal? I actually can't use it because when I try to type anything half the letters are missing...hope you know what I mean and that there's an easy remedy to sort the problem or will I have to return it?

Thanks as always.
Regards
Fash

Sounds like a contact problem between the keys and the underlying membrane. I'd return it for a replacement keyboard.

Thanks Wombat - I'll do that...but so frustrating!
    Happy New Year.

Yeah, I know, but if you start fiddling about with it you can invalidate the guarantee and, if you don't manage to fix it or another fault develps, you're stuffed.

Sorry, matey. Happy New Year to you too.
