SOA for BR - guidelines on amounts

Hi there,
I have noticed that when the "wise owls" of the board look at SOA's posted on here, they immediately spot when things are too low or high.
Is this down to experience or is there a list of amounts per person printed somewhere that I can have a look at?
The reason I ask is that when a couple of you saw my SOA I was told to increase a few things. The guy in the CCCS also said that my SOA was on the low side so I was wondering if there are guidelines anywhere?
I could then build a little bit of a cushion into the SOA to allow for the inevitable price increases - e.g car insurance and MOT work.

Dont know if this is the same for BR but I used this for my DMP

Apologies if wrong as BR SOA is a bit different than DMP0 -
Wow,
If this is for a DMP then I can see why people were saying my figures were on the low side - definitely a bit of cranking up to be done, I can see.
Thanks ym for that.

SA a lot of it is down to experiance. As you have seen we look at quite a few SOA a week. We know from seeing what various people feedback to us what they were allowed. There is also a guideline but it is horrendously out of date.Namaste DeeDee x0

Hi, as deedee says, a lot of it is down to practice and seeing what folks on here have been allowed. ym - the amounts for DMP will be different, as BR amounts are more lenient, but your link gives a bit of an idea! It is very out of date tho - as an example, amount of housekeeping for a family of 4 is between £500-£600 now! For a couple without children it's around £400 - that's what we've been allowed, anyway! Thanks you two, yes I have just looked again at the list and I am not sure where utilities figures on the list, but the housekeeping was certainly higher than I would have put.
Before I fill my SOA in I am going to post it again for you all to have a look at. I don't want to end up going short (again) and paying an IPA!

Good plan SA.
It's also good for fresh eyes to look at something as you may have missed something out by accident. Someone PM'd me their SOA the other day just to run my eye over after they had put it together from advice on here and it was spot on, except they had forgotten to put contents insurance in, easily done.Namaste DeeDee x0 -
Thanks deedee - will do......

All you can do is ask - if they say no they'll just reduce it a bit!
Morrisons 'The Best' mince pies are lovely!;):D:D CBx
Edit: Oops! I read 'mince' as 'mince pies' - seasonal affective disorder, I guess!!!0 -
