HELP! Recommend a good conservatory company

Hi all,
My mom and Dad are going to retire properly next year, after a pretty hard slog looking after us and earning a crust. They want a conservatory to enjoy their garden etc.

I am NOT in the DIY/Self Build kind of scene...I am looking in this forum for recommendations for a GOOD builder or supplier of quality conservatories - can someone help?

Location: LANCASHIRE
Size: apr 4mx3m Lean-to style with two doors (French Doors to front, slide for side), stone floors with Underfloor heating, power points, lights on walls)

Any help gratefully received.

  • If you are within striking distance of Blackpool.....

I was recently replacing my windows and only got quotes from companies personally recommended by friends and colleagues. The one I went with was Direct Window Company in Blackpool:

They gave the best quote and lived up to the recommendation given by a friend - no hard sell, no pushing credit, turned up when they said they would, gave the best price, did a good job (despite quite horrendous weather at the time), etc, etc. Personally, I like to go to see a company's premises and was quite impressed by theirs. They have a lot of different conservatories displayed and seem to do the whole package (although I only got windows). They were transparent about their prices (and gave me a quote on my own measurements which was pretty close to to what the price was when they came and did the survey). If you're in the area they are worth a look. If you know the area, they're close to B&Q in Blackpool.
  • Thanks - funnilly enough I got one of their fliers through a few days ago and did not follow them up. I think I mistook them with another firm STYLE-something or other.

  • We bought ours from Croft based in Preston. Good quality and excellent service. not the cheapest but we went on that fact that 3 of our neighbours had all had theirs done with them and were very satisfied.
