Hi
Just want to know if anyone has any advice on our situation.
In August we had to relocate to the other side of the country (Gloucestershire) due to my partners work commitments, we have a 1 bedroom house in Norfolk that we own so the idea was for us to rent the property out.
We instructed a letting agents about a month before we moved out, had the house painted throughout and new carpets laid. Due to the area the house is in there was lots of identical houses on the market (approx 8 on the same street). 5 1/2 months later our house is the only one that is still empty!
We have spoken to the letting agents who just kept telling us it was a quiet time which we could understand but they also said that no one was buying houses in the area either. Well if they aren't buying they must be renting. They even told us that the house was filthy, so I took the 5 hour journey back to check on the house which was spotless!
So we are now at a stage where the property is with a letting agent who refuses tod o anything and also with another agency who has managed to show 3 people round in the space of weeks, but still no one wants the property. We have also reduced the rent from £450 now down to £395.
Any ideas of what we could do next

Adverts in local papers? Family or friends who need rental accomodation? Different agents again?
Good luck!0 -
Do you have a builder, plumber, corgi gas fitter and electrician in Norfolk you trust? If so, you're well on the way to not needing the "services" of an agent. If not, I think you're stuck with bloodsucking wastes of space.0

Unfortunatly we don't know anyone in Norfolk and my family are the closest but still 2 hours away.
I just can't understand why our house is the only one left as even the next doors house was let quickly.

Do you have a rightmove link? If it's not on rightmove: then that's the problem, go to an agent that is on rightmove.0
