Hi there I am 21 and have epilepsy I don't work but am at uni on a part time course, I currently receive free travel in London and was wondering if anyone knew of any benefits that could help me out with uni etc?

obviously it will depend on how severe your condition is but if for example you need someone to keep an eye on you to eep you safe or escort you outdoors you may get some componant of DLA. Also its possible you might be entited to the new ESA (which used to be income support and incapacity benefit)

Disabled students are entitled to claim the Disabled Students Allowance. How much you get depends on an assesment of your needs.
Disabled students can also claim some benefits and help with rent.

Your university should have a Disabled students support officer who will be able to give you all sorts of advice. Ask a member of your faculty office admin staff and they should be able to get you a number to contact.0
