Abbey Zero is no more

I applied for an Abbey Zero card online a few weeks ago thinking I could use it when I go to New York later this month. Got the contract in the post last week. Looked it over, but not too carefully.

The card came today. It's not an Abbey Zero card. For one thing, there's a 2.95% charge on foreign currency transactions.

Phoned Abbey. Half and hour and four customer service reps later, they said they'll call me back about it. I doubt it.

One thing that they did tell me is that the card that I got has a 3% cashback on it, though it doesn't say this in the contract. Very odd.

Abbey ZERO card was removed from online applications a few weeks ago, however it can still be obtained when applying in branch.

Too late for me as I'm flying in a few days. I'm just annoyed with myself for not having carefully read through the contract, and with Abbey, for sending me a completely different card from the one I applied for. I'm certain that it was the Abbey Zero because I did read the T&C at the time of applying.

Oh, and they got my name slightly wrong. It says Mrs. I'm married, but I use my maiden name, so I go by Ms.

a few people have said the same when applying for a zero and getting a standard.

id say cancel it, and they will probs offer you a zero!
