Nintendo DS Best Buys

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the place to post this request but I'm sure it will get moved if it shouldn't be here.
I am looking to get a blue Nintendo DS for my daughters birthday with the Nintendogs (Lab version) but I'm not sure where the best deal for this would be.
Online I have checked Game, Woolworths and Ebay (they seem to be selling for little short of retail there!) but I didn't know if anyone could recommend any other sites where I might get both items at their cheapest.
Thanks in advance.

This page may be of use to you:
http://find-games.co.uk/nds/B000BHZXPO.htm
You might also try using some of the other price comparisons websites, such as Kelkoo or Pricerunner or Froogle. You could also see if there are vouchers available for the shop you're interested in getting it from, and use a cashback site to maximise your savings.
Hope all this is of some help.0 -
argos may be worth a try if your local one has stock

toys r us were also doing some good bundles instore before xmas xxx0 -
Thanks for the advice. It seems that price was the least of my worries, finding a blue one is stock seems to be a challenge!
I tried Argos as they have not only the Labs game with a blue one but also the option of insurance at £19.99
The insurance is in stock but you try and find the DS anywhere. I checked about 8 branches up and down the country, all saying out of stock.
Now wouldn't it be nice if you could click a button when an item was out of stock and it would bring up all stores that HAD that item in stock...0 -
Not on line but might be worth trying your local Blockbuster Video Store. Nintendogs package is £99:99, or £114:99 with another DS game of your choice.0

Thanks, will try BB tomorrow.
Also thanks to Feardust - I wonder if that's the same guy that does find-dvd site as it looks very similar.0 -
Why do you need the insurance?
You get a 1 year guarantee with Argos and from my experience they hardly ever 'repair', just replace. Nintendo are pretty good at user support however.
I can't see any faults happening after a year has passed until the end of natural life. My Game Boy still plays well after all this time0 -
Why insurance?
My daughter is 9 and children drop things, even after 1 year ;-)0 -
You've probably already looked into this, but your home contents insurance might cover you for accidental damage (depending on whether your excess makes it worth while).
I was in Game in Oxford Street earlier, and they seemed to have plenty of stock of DSs in general, though I didn't happen to see what colour they are. I've noticed that the packages have started getting cheaper (or including extra games etc) in a couple of shops - possibly because Nintendo are revealing a "new" revamped DS on the 16th Jan (will play the same games, but will look different) ... so the old ones will reduce in price. So, if I hadn't already bought one last week (grr!), I'd wait for 2 weeks to see what happens. You may want to go for one of the new ones, or grab a yet-to-be-announced-deal.
Check this with your local Game, but they told me that they will accept any return (except PC games), even opened, for a full refund within 10 days.
I guess it depends on when your daughter's birthday is, whether she'd want any other games too (Mario Kart is absolutely brilliant) and whether she minds waiting...0 -
Thanks for that info, I wasn't aware there was another one coming out on Monday.
Her birthday is Feb 2nd so I can play with a little time. I'll have to keep an eye on the Game website :-D
The main game she was interested in was the Nintendogs Lab version - she has also played Zoo Tycoon on her cousin's machine so wanted that too. Maybe with the new revision they will do bundles other than Mario ;-)0 -

They are? I've seen the mock ups but thought that was much further ahead in the schedule!0
