    Just read this thread.

This is scarey. Please let us know what the tax credit people say.

Ok, so i just called. She said there is an overpayment from 2005-2006 for £2769
because i earnt more than estimated....

She said she will send out a breakdown of this debt and send me a dispute form if i wish to dispute it. They are happy to set up a payment plan.

She cannot see on the screen any notes of anyone been sent out to me and found it strange i hadn't received letters or calls either.

So not sure if to ignore the huge wrestler comin to my door or just tell him i am dealing direct as such? What you think? Just don't wanna be sittin on tender hooks waitin for the door to knock.
:o any help is much appreciated

In your shoes I'd inform him (through the letter box) that I've made contact with Tax Credits, confirmed there is an overpayment I was previously unaware of, and am now dealing direct with them.

Did you let him in at all?

also HMRC have quite scarey powers since they merged with customs and excise regarding powers of entry.

I would also post your opening post on the debt free wannabe board http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=76
as some of these posters have experience of bailiffs too.

    Good luck
