I'm not sure people aren't being a bit harsh on the OP, here.

It seems to me they agreed to a tax-free amount *equal to* the owed holiday pay + a lump sum. Not the holiday pay itself. (All a bit of a grey area, surely).

I don't see why everyone's so down on the OP for just trying to get what they thought had been agreed...

Thank you for your comment too. I was starting to get a little depressed. On a serious note, you have totally understood where I am coming from. Have worked with an accounting firm for a few years, i am quite aware that holiday pay is taxable but here was a case of this firm agreeing a settlement to cover the amount tax free which they did not live upto but actually went one step further and issued me my P45 without those funds included and then did not respond to me for 2 months as I kept requesting those funds. I just think that large firms should not be allowed to get away with bullying employees as such. They were extremely nice to me all the way through the settlement process but once an amount was agreed and signed and I was out of the door, they did not even have the courtesy to respond to my requests.

Anyway, obviously got a bit overjoyed to see a supportive comment so it all came gushing out but thanks.

Ok sorry that we based our advice on the information that you gave in the OP which was that you had been told they would pay you holiday pay tax free, and it turns out you meant an amount equivalent to holiday pay or even an amount that is higher to account for the tax to be deducted. We can only advise on what info we were given, maybe if you'd been clearer it would have helped?
