Can CTC be backdated?

Hi,
I hope someone can help me with some information: We have applied for CTC beginning of November and have just got our letter and been paid on Friday. The letter says that our CTC payments are worked out from 7/11 until April 09 and it seems we have been paid from that date.
However, I was under the impression that they would backdate them by three months? We have been on JSA since March of this year and have never claimed before. Is that a possibility? If so, how would I go about doing it?
Any information would be much appreciated.

Just ring them up to enquire. If they need it in writing they'll tell youI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

They will only backdate from the date you apply. Ie if you ring and ask by phone they should send the form and they will have records of that call0

Can you just run that past us again
Thanks ....I had a chuckle at that as well.
I am sure though that it was just quick typing and not checking the draft!
