Christmas Meal (not Christmas dinner) - place setting gifts

3.1K Posts

Each year, just before Christmas, I host a dinner for my husbands brother, his wife and children. Each year I like to place something for them to keep on each of their place settings (as I do on Christmas day for my own family).
Over the years this has varied (mainly as the children have grown up) from chocolate novelties (mainly from John Lewis) to more upmarket chocolates (from Godiva) to last year when I rolled up a lucky dip lottery ticket for each of them and placed a bow around it.
This year I'm kind of stuck (my husband thought the lottery tickets were tacky, although the recipents thought they were great) - does anyone have any suggestions. I try to keep the cost to £5 per head and I've always thought good quality chocolate was a treat they wouldn't neccessarily buy themselves.
I'm open to ideas please.
Thanks

It's exactly £5 and its a beautiful organic soap wrapped in snowflake paper, with a Merry Christmas tag. Everything on that site is absolutely adorable but these can work particularly well as a small gift.
