Mine turned up today, about 25mins after I rang them.

For anyone else still without theirs I was told that the PO's will be sent within 28 days of your policy going active, not from the date of purchase.

    Hi there

If you search this board for post office car insurance you'll see a few threads on the subject.

I got mine thru Post office...have received the Postal Order and cashed it :D and I also went through https://www.topcashback.co.uk to get it and I'm waiting for another £45 from them (although I think that amount has been reduced on the current offers).

petal, what the deal with https://www.topcashback.co.uk? it looks really good, but im sceptical. it says they'll give me £40 cash back if i get car insurance with direct line. why would they give me £40? whats in it for them?
    thanks

My guess would be that they are being paid as an affiliate.

Looking at direct lines sister company Privilege they do have an affiliate scheme and will give the referer £40 per motor policy sold and £50 per home policy. This is their standard rate so if you are selling at a high volume you could negotiate a higher commission I'm sure.

If you look at the top of these pages you will see the links to confused.com etc all have refer tags at the end so I imagine that MSE will be paid per policy sold through these sites in a similiar way.

My car insurance was due for renewal last week i was already with the PO, so my renewal comes through at £339, so i did a comparison and their quote if i was a new customer was £242 (with £50 cashback).
I rang to say i wanted the lower quote they told me it was for brand new customers only. I argued and they told me to get lost basically. :(
Said i was invalidating my insurance because i quoted for the same vehicel twice..

so i canceled my insurance and im now with the aa.

    hi,

just given this from my post office - if your car insurance is due in june or july then get you quote now.

there is a promotion where they offer £50 cash back on all policies. tomarrow is the last day to get quotes but quotes are valid for 60days. if you get your quote tomarrow then post office will give you £50 of postal orders should you decide to take it up. just keep a note of the of the quote number so you can access it later.

the promotion code on the site is to be left blank and the leaflet code i got from the post office is 3584275

    if it helps anybody...
