cat food - Cost of box of 12 pouches

Whats the cost of a box of 12 pouches of cat food in your local supermarket ?
I'm looking for best deals and cheapest ones.

* Do not post saying dry/raw food is best and to feed top quality etc etc.
Some people can't afford the "good" stuff.

Sometimes supermarkets have a buy two get one free offer. I have three boxes of kitten pouches going free so i may give them to my local rescue if no one wants them in my area.

I do say though that it would be worth you buying tins instead because you don't get much in these pouches.

Sainsburys own £2.35, Tescos own I think is £1.98, Sainsburys do a pack of 44 for just over £7 which works out a bit cheaper. They also have Whiskas on 2 for £5 at the moment. I'm not sure what offers are on anywhere else though.

I can't feed one of my cats dry food, he has had too many teeth removed to be able to cope with it so I alternate between supermarkets' own pouches and Felix/Whiskas. And he won't touch tinned food - I think I've spoilt him a bit too much!

pets at home have kitekat for £2.15

which is cheaper than there own make.
my cat chucks up off the own make. but is fine with kitekat

dry food, if measured out correctly, can work out quite cheap, almost as cheap as the pouches (if not cheaper in somecases).

it costs me 55p a day in total to feed two male cats using Hills food (purchased online at discount at a cost of £11 a bag).

i had a cat who had all her teeth removed except the canines when she was about a year old...and she only ever ate dry food, Hills. I guess the morsels were small enough to cope with - she used to pick them out of the bowl with her paw, one or two at a time and eat them up.

The reason I feed pouches is because it is much easier to give in portions (ie, half to each cat). One cat is old, quite poorly, on tablets twice a day and its rare that I find a cat biscuit she will eat. The other cat is a tubby and on a diet so the half pouch suits him fine. Plus its less waste to go in the bins.

Tesco's own brand fluctuates daily between £1.98 and anything upto £2.35 (in my local one anyway).

I buy my cat whatever is on offer, Asda has 2X12 sachets, on Whiskas Roasted (maybe some other types too) for £5, and I got 12 cans of felix for £5 too. That will last my cat about a month.

My cat will usually only eat Whiskas pouches, but has happily eaten Lidl pouches this week - 12 for £1.99.

I used to feed my two wet tinned food: if you plan ahead & buy in bulk online it is cheaper.:beer: Oh & the cats are less likely to be tubby (mine evened out after changing to dry - the thinner one is more rounded & the fat one slimmer). Oh & I'll say it again

Our cat was fantastic while our old weimmy was alive and ate anything. Now that the weimmy is gone he is really fussy and suprisingly loves lidl's little square sachet things
