un-exempting cars!!

Hi,
My car was declared exempt after my OR interview. Reasons were that I comuted from Devon to BRistol fro work.
We have now moved to Bristol and I dont need the car for travelleing. Im due to put in my revised income and expenditure form with the new rent etc but petrol cost are going to be much lower, with the surplus being added to the rent as its now more.
Can the OR un-exempt a car?? its worth around £3000?
Thanks!!

I don't think so. They might want a revised I&E if your travelling costs are less...Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

I'm working on the new income and expenditure that the OR sent out to me, we will still have less the £99 surplus as the rent is more but travelling less so it kind of fits!!0

This is a long shot but do you have to lower your petrol figures on I&E?

Did OR send you a letter confirming under IS Act 1985 section XYZ that your car was exempt? If that's been done, can't see how they can reverse the decision.0

Hi, Yes they did send me a certificate saying it was exempt so thats good.
I'll just send in the new income and expenditure and let them see the figures for themselves, I'll not offer any info until/if they ask!!!0 -
No you will be fine as i called my OR when i lost my job and as i have a van would need a car. The OR said the decision had been made re the van and it was no longer of interest to them and that was worth about £2300.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:
