New Home Fun

Hi Guys,

I'm new here and though i would post as the info i have read has been very usefull and you all seem helpfull and friendly

I guess in posting this im looking for opinions and a space to just get it off my chest really.

I've moved into a new build home, finished in Febuary this year and never lived in until i moved in recently.

I did the usual and rang the appropriate numbers to find out who my supplier was... confirmed the address and meter numbers all tied up and were correct etc...both Gas and Electric came back as Scotish Power....great i thought...thats who i want to be with anyway.... this is where my problems started..

Rang Scottish Power who told me it had been transfered out to nPower in April, strange i thought, but rang npower to check who could not find my house anywhere on their system so i phone Scottish Power back and asked them to check again, this time giving them my meter serial numbers and MPAN/MPRN numbers i had obtianed from before, to my surprise both results returned my neighbours house number instead of mine despite YEDL and GTC Pipelines confirming that they have the correct meter and numbers for my house (ive phoned them twice to check while standing infont of my meters reading the serial numbers to them), it would apear my neighbour has rung up when they move in in april and given them his address and transfered out my meters and mpan numbers and has been paying npower based on his meter readings due to mix up on a database somewhere?

so now im stuck because scotish power say my meter is coming back as his house, his meter s/n is coming back as mine and they need to sort the whole mess out 'liasing' with npower....which doesnt fill me with confidence...and i have nobody to give my money to.....i have no idea how long the whole process will take.

my head hurts and i wasted 4 and a half hours of my day

opinions, words of encouragement...large drinks all welcomed.
