I'm looking to do more of my shopping online, specifically to begin using eBay. I would like to get a credit card so I have more protection online (I am currently using a debit card and I've just linked my bank account with my paypal account). I currently have a LloydsTSB current account and I would like to pay off all the bills instantly and not be charged anything.
I'm a student at sea for most of the year with no access to my account, so I need the process to be hands free. I don't know anything about credit cards and I feel I need advice.
What card would you suggest, and do you have any tips for using paypal safely?

I think you will find that credit card protection generally excludes transactions like those through Paypal as you are simply using the card to transfer cash to Paypal. If there is a problem with receiving goods paid for using paypal then the problem lies with Paypal rather than your credit card.
try searching the forum as this has been brought up numerous times previously.0 -

A credit card would be great for using a site like play.com as it remembers all you details and purchases can be completed withing a few clicks. As for ebay, like latecomer says it will be using Paypal which has its own services0 -
Actually, credit card payments through Paypal are protected - but only where the credit card was used to make a payment. If it's Paypal funds through a direct bank transfer, then obviously this falls outside of the credit card protection because a card isn't being used.
