Tracking spreadsheet

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can help, i switched suppliers back in the summer after my previous suplier bills were going through the roof. With my new suppliers I am now in credit, £118 for electric and £46 for gas which is great, but I'm wondering (especially with the electric) if by DD is too high.

So I would like to find a way of tracking my usage by spreadsheet where I can input weekly meter readings and the s/sheet will show me how much I'm actually spending and whether this is in line with how much I'm paying by DD.

I've got the last months worth of meter reading, but not really sure how I would go about putting a speadsheet together (I really only know the very basics on Excel)

I've seen the Energy Tool that someone posted in Sep which I think is great, but was hoping to have something that I use to track my usage over a period of time, can anyone help?

Many thanks.

I have made my own where I put in a meter reading and it calculates daily average. You could put extra columns in to calculate cost but I haven't done that. I've only just taught myself how to do formulas in excel so couldn't really explain it to you but, if you can wait until the weekend, I could send mine.

    A spreadsheet won't really help.

Electricity consumption doesnt vary much throughout the year - a little more in winter.

So work out your daily consumption so far and multiply that by 365 and you can calculate your annual spend.

With gas that is not possible unless you know your seasonal consumption.

Obviously if you have your previous years consumption you can work out annual costs and divide by 12.

Ours is a lot more in winter, or always has been, due to the tumble drier (laundry for six).

    Thanks guys.

If my consumption is roughly the same all year, then I shouldn't be £118 in credit surely??

I'm also trying to reduce our consumption so a spreadsheet can help me keep track of what is being used and costing.

As said in post #4 work out your annual spend from consumption and tariff.

There are lots of reasons why you could(and should) be £118 in credit.

Without full details we can't possibly comment if you should or should not be in credit.
