Parking ticket

Hi
I recently got a parking ticket when working for a company.
The van I was driving was rented from a car hire outlet with the billing address being that of my company and with my home address also printed on the confirmation sheet, given at the time I took out the vehicle.
As I freelance it can be hard to keep a track of everything. If the company I worked for forgot to pay, would I be contacted or the company by the inforcement officers? You often hear of cases 5+ years old where fines have remained unpaid and credit historys wrecked etc..
(obviously this is unlikely to happen although I'd like to know the process if they don't recieve payment - who do they contact?)

If it's not paid, the usual procedure is that the authorities will bill the hire car company (who as owners have primary liability). They will pass the cost on, plus a handling fee, to either you or your company, depending on who their contract is with.0

I'm confused .... you got a parking ticket ... what have you done with it?
Does the company you work for pay your parking fines? It would be very unusual.
If the fine is not paid, then I think the next demand goes to the registered keeper, which would be the car hire company. The authority issuing the parking ticket would have no information to go on apart from the registration number - and that will only show the registered keeper.
You can then expect the car hire company to add an admin charge and send the total bill on your company .... and then they will either pay it (if it's the case that they pay your fines) or pass it on to you.
I have to admit that I've never had parking fines paid by my employer, even when driving a company vehicle.
But - what did you do with the original ticket?
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Thanks, you read my mind Debt-free-chick.
I was a Fleet Support Executive in my last job and I was looking after 150+ vehicles. If my drivers got a parking ticket they would have to bring it to me ASAP! And I stress the ASAP note. We would then consider whether the fine was drivers fault or whether it was necessary to park there for the job (sometimes the guys had to carry very heavy stuff into the bank branches and if they were on main street with no vehicles zone, they didn't have any other option).
If the ticket was their fault I paid it immediately, while the fine is low and then I deducted it from their wages/invoice if they were subcontractors.
If they had to park there for the job, the company would take the fall.
But to your question - if your address is on the hire sheet, then they would probably contact you. Who did they bill for the hire?0
