The spending spreadsheet

I've been trawling through the long thread on "This site, questions and suggestions" board, to see if there is any advancement in accessing the spreadsheet for those who do not have the standard Excel or Office functions on their PCs. I have to say, it doesn't seem to have moved on very much in the 18 months since the process was developed and the questions about accessibility started being asked.
As the spreadsheet is now an intrinsic part of the TV programme, and everything hinges on what it demonstrates to the family under review, is there any way that the rest of us could (metaphorically speaking) get our hands on it? I am sure that Martin's new TV audience will soon be making similar requests, so could this be put to the top of the "to do" list maybe?
I have Microsoft Works Home Edition, which seems to be a fat lot of good! :rolleyes:

To be honest I don't think you need access to excel ...I think all is required is a piece of paper!
Yes it will calculate for you what you are overspeading but if you have all the facts and figures down on a piece of paper what's the difference? The main point is that, for many of these families, they are seeing what they overspead each month in black and white.
My mum for a number of years now has used an exercise book to record all her speading.2014 Target;

Thanks for the reply MofD, and in fact I do have a spreadsheet that I made up for myself, for the regular monthly bills. I get the impression that Martin's is much more comprehensive, and no doubt includes all sorts of expenditure that I have overlooked.
I just thought that as the spreadsheet is such a fundamental part of the show, it would be good if the general public who watch MMR could try it out for themselves.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Ok - you can't save it - but it's there to be used.
Cheers

The above is a free alternative software to Microsoft Office. There are versions for Windows and Macs. You can find it here
