Hi. I currently receive income support and dla for depression, anxiety and ibs. i have recently been told by my community psychiatric nurse (who a see once a fortnight) that i am being discgarged by the community mental health team (due to me being with them for 2 - 3 years and not getting better) and will therefore not be seeing her anymore. will i have to tell benefits agency about this? will i be kicked off benefits? i am still suffering with illnesses. any help would be appreciated. thanks x

Don't worry you don't have to tell the benefits agency. I get Income Support and DLA for scitzo-affective disorder and i don't like doctors so have not seen a phsyc doctor for a few years but that does not mean i have got better. Relax it won't make any difference to your money UNLESS you have got better. If you haven't don't worry about telling them.0

I think scooby is right but you can check if you look at the award letter and leaflets that come with it where it tells you the changes that need to be notified.0

Seeing the team will make no difference to your entitlement to benefits. The criteria for having regular contact with a CMHT (Community Mental Health Team) are VERY different to the criteria that the benefits agency will have so I wouldn't worry about it.
(and for the record, I work in a CMHT).0 -
Thanks for everyone who replied. Not so worried now! X0
