I have four cat beds all completely different in style but the cats rarely use them. In fact, only one cat does and that's the igloo type bed.
You'd be better with a cradle type bed which hangs from the radiators. Tesco currently have one on offer at £10.50.
You will soon find out that cats sleep exactly where they want to and not where you want them to!
Before a cat bed you really need a good sturdy cat scratching post. We got a double one from ebay for under a tenner. Get them used to that and it'll save (most) marks on your furniture, carpets, doorframes, cushions, divan etc.
Good luck!0 -
My kitten sleeps mainly on the dining room chairs. And on top of the Monopoly we have on the shelf. And sometimes on the dining table.
knowsleyroader is right, I'd worry more about a decent scratching post than a cat bed. You can use a cardboard box with a blanket/sheet/pillow/whatever in it to make a bed if you want to! Cats aren't fussy where they sleep.
I've just bought a 5ft cat activity centre/tree from ebay for £30 (plus another £10 postage) which has soft platforms, loads of scratching posts and a hidey hole/bed.0 -
Ha ha cats don't use cat beds, they find their own sleeping place, mainly on the sofa, they are a waste of money. Goodluck in your new kitties, your life will never be the same

I got a big cardboard board box and cut a hole in it.. I put some old clothes that weren't fit to charity shop and put it next to a radiator and my cats love it..0

My cat has a particular liking for fleecy airline blankets on the back of chairs, or at a pinch the bottom of my bed if i don't shut the bedroom door.
Suggest you try a cardboard box lined with soft airline blankets to start some cats never end up using the expensive beds you buy for them.
When I had a dog as well the kitten slept in the dogs bed and sometimes allowed the dog in with it, a sad sight a full grown labrador too soft to move the cat out of her bed!
If I had a scanner I would post the pictures to prove this.0 -
I've got an igloo for my 2 kittens, but they afren't impressed with it and after many hours of using it as a springboard they have flattened it. So now they sleep on the top of it rather than in it.
Mine also love the radiator bed that I got for them from pets at home - be aware it is a b*gger to put together and the air was blue!

I have a lab too! her bed often gets taken over by the cats.. and she just looks at them and wimpers0 -

I also have a Lab but she's a pupster at the moment. I look forward to the day they can share a bed without beating each other up!
(To be fair, the kitten usually starts it...

Yes, cats sleep where they want to, you may buy the beds only to find out that they won't use them.
My cat sleeps on the cushion on top of the kitchen chair during daytime and on my sofa's cushion covered by my old cashmere blanket at nighttime. Ocassionally he comes and sleeps with us in our bed, but since I have covered the cushion with the cashmere jumper, he loves sleeping there. If it is very cold I cover him with my husband's old jumper, he looks comfy and warm like bug in a rug.
It really is up to you if you want to buy a bed (radiator ones sound great), but be prepared that your kittens might not use them, so I would say don't spend loads of money on them. Or perhaps buy one, see how you go, and then, if they use it, buy another one.0 -
