£3 taken from my credit card today

I've had £3 taken from my credit card today , i purchased a pair of shoes at £11.25 off amazon and i also registered at speedauction.tv , one of them has taken £3.00 off my credit card as i checked it online and its saying £14.25 pending , has amazon charged me £3 extra or has speedauction.tv charged me a registration fee or taken £3 off me to validate my card ? , i've had something similar with a hotel before when the money has came back again , i'm just wondering if i've been charged the £3 cos the credit card company thought it was a betting payment as its got a £3 charge , I've only used my card twice today both times in here so its either amazon or speedauction.tv , anyone in here know whats happening ?

  • Ring up your credit card people and ask about 'pending'.....

Yeah, for little Hitlers like you to act like you have.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out to someone that they have posted in the wrong forum. Many people get annoyed with having to filter out off-topic posts. There really isn't any need for the childish/rude little hitler comment.
  • And the post from pre-reg is just as rude.
Yes the OP was wrong, but there was no need for that attitude either.

hi i have had this happen to me for £1 and £2 when i had been shopping at ikea, tesco and argos and spent more than that, i never spend £1 on my card.
anyway i went in to the bank and they said it is just that some companies test to see if the card is working and that that amount should disappear and the actual amount you have spent will be taken out. it is just so that they know that the card works if there is a delay between purchasing and the money being taken out... or something like that,( i was listening to her but obviously not very carefully!) i was just glad that someone wasnt trying to steal all my money very slowly!!!

a mobile network once took a pound to authorise i was over eighteen but they told me they were doing it , nobody has told me this time but i think speedauction.tv did say something about validating on the screen , never said they were withdrawing £3 anyway , Well anyway i'll find out in a few days as the pending transactions are displayed .. Thanks for your responses

Don't worry. This happens all the time. I often have a few pounds in pending that I cannot account for. Retailers can earmark amounts from your credit limit for a variety of purposes. It will either turn into a real transaction or disappear in a couple of days.
