changing to new vodaphone contract can I keep my number?

Hi,
Hubby has just finished a contract with vodafone and has pac code,just signed up for another vodafone contract with mtyd 12 months free via cashback.Would it be possible to keep his original number?If so how do we go about it?Thanks

    usually they don't allow u to pac from vodafone back to vodafone. best advice is to call them up and see what they say.

    Yes - you can port your number to another network, but if what you are wanting to do is migrate your number from a same-network contract to a new one, the answer will be no.

    The reasons for this is you've effectively sidestepped their upgrade policy, as the deal for new contracts is better - as such, any migration will be blocked.

    The way round is to use the PAC to port the number off to a PAYG sim, then at a later stage, get Vodafone to change your numbe by porting in your 'original'. You may have to leave this for up to 6 months or a year - but at least you won't lose your number!

    Unfortunately Voda will not allow you to port a number after the start of the contract, so that route won't work...
