Amecco Capital Investments Ltd

Hello, we have found your resume at Monster.co.uk and we want to offer
you a job. Job consists of receiving payment from customers (bank transfer)
and making further payments to our main office or to one of our regional
affiliate departments, depending on the customer's location. It should not
take more that 2 hours per day. Agent's commission is 6% from each
transaction (for instance: you receive 1000GBP to your bank account, you
will withdraw the money and keep 60GBP for yourself). All transfer and
further money transfer related charges are also covered and paid by our
company. So You'll be responsible just for making proper payments in time
(24 hrs. since the successful receipt). Each transaction will be
transferred only after prior notification and sometimes after a
notification phone call.

If you are interested in our offer, please feel free to ask for the general
provisions of the contract. Our e-mail address: hr@amecco.net

Best regards,

This sounds to me like either money laundering or fraud/phishing although the form you have to fill in does not ask for your bank passwords and it is typically tricky to create fictious bank instructions without your signature.

What do you think?

  • Report it to Monster. I had a similar thing through another job board and they reported them to the police and stopped their membership.

    As emotionboy said, KEEP AWAY!

Yep, it's a means of money laundering and also has links to the Nigerian scamming rings...

With you acting as a representative for your "employers," a "client" (possibly a third party who is unaware of this payment being made) sends you a payment by paper means. You then pay this into your bank account and it appears to be cleared and the money is credited to your account. As agreed with your "employer," you then send the majority of these funds to them via Western Union (highly likely form of transfer used) minus a percentage that you keep as commission for doing such a fine job.

A few weeks later, your bank then contacts you to advise that the payment cheque was actually a very good fake and therefore the full money amount that you thought had cleared (and subsequently was paid by the bank into your account) becomes a debit against your account, resulting in you actually owing the FULL amount (normally a fair few thousand) to your bank.

You contact your "employers" to query this situation and "DING DONG!," it would appear that their e-mail addresses no longer work and you cannot contact them again...

Youy end up with a severe debt with an unforgiving bank and may also possibly get some grief from your local Police in regards to cashing fraudulent cheques.

    Keep well away!

Also, as Katie advised, do report it to Monster, as they also need to be clearing these "individuals."
