The Sony A200 is good at the moment for £242 with £30 cash back. Amazon.
The Lumix FZ28 has good reviews. Though the older FZ18 is cheaper.
Lumix LX3 has a great lens but not a great price.
Ixus 80, 85 and 90 all well received.

One With A Good Lens And Reasonable Price
I bought a Canon Ixus 960is earlier this year and it's an excellent piece of kit. I've got wrist problems and the image stabiliser technology really helps. It's 12.1 mega pixels which is more than I'll ever need since I don't print billboards :rotfl:. It's got multiple face recognition and red eye correction and is simple to use. The titanium case is very sturdy - but the ergonomic shape is quite slippery so the wrist strap is essential. It's currently £149.99 on Amazon - a very good price, but make sure it comes with the charger - sometimes they don't.
I recently started a digital imaging course and even the tutor is impressed with this camera :T.
If you want a leather case - these are £13.17 on Amazon - but considerably cheaper on ebay
