Could someone confirm that I can make a claim on my car insurance claim for passenger damage? My passenger opened their door as I was reversing, damaging the door on a tree! many thanks

If you have fully comp cover then yes you can make a claim.
However this will count against you.
You will probably have an excess to pay and could lose no claims bonus (unless it's protected).

It's worth comparing the cost of the damage with you excess and increased premiums in future.
You can easily do this with site like confused.com.
Simply do a quote with your existing details, then amend it to reduce your NCD (if not proteted) and add the "fault" claim.
