Ebay & PO Box Addresses

Does anyone know if it's possible to register and trade through ebay using a Royal Mail PO box number?

It's just I'm thinking of setting up a small ebay business, linked to a website, and I'm not too keen on all and sundry being able to see my home address!!

Better getting an postal address, somewhere there are companies that provide that service.

i don't know if the law applies to ebay users but for businesses selling online you MUST have your address displayed somewhere on the site!

The people I work for both use PO box addresses. Neither of them have a website though, they only use e-bay.

Thing is would you be keen to deal with a PO Box? What happens when the sale goes wrong?

I'm afraid with my buyers hat on I wouldn't be keen (especially for UK sales).

A lot of very well established non-ebay businesses use PO Box numbers and have done for a very long time. If there's a problem with a sale, you use e-mail in the first instance and failing that, telephone. But as a seller, I wouldn't keep my customers hanging on and would have great communication from the start.

Besides, you're not 'dealing with a PO Box', you're dealing with a person!!

I asked the question originally because I was wondering whether Ebay allowed people to register with a PO Box rather than a home address. I couldn't find an answer to this on the Ebay help section.

Also, is there a 'find contact' information facility on Paypal as well as Ebay?

I wouldn't worry about it because you can just ring the post office and ask which address the po box is linked to.

    Cheers, Des.
