I have been trying to transfer my cash ISA to an ecash ISA. HSBC have told me via their online banking that I cannot do that. Is that right? As I thought I could transfer my ISA anytime.

    You cannot do it online.

    You can transfer anytime.

You have to fill in an ISA transfer form and it can take around 4 weeks (sometimes less, sometimes more) for the transfer to complete.

The cash e-ISA is for new money only, so you shouldn't be able to do it.

It helps that I get asked this question on what seems like a daily basis! ;)
