You say up there that it isn't your final destination account so why dont you just transfer it direct from LloydsTSB???
Becasue the final destination account has to be linked to a current account somewhere - Lloyds isn't my main bank, all the obscure savings accounts that i have are linked through my Nationwide one so i have to pay all the money into that first.
  • I meant transfer to another bank, like Egg Saving or YBS Saving, they accept transfers by debit card and amount is credited instantly ....
Ah I should look into those - currently i have opened Capital One and B&B & Birmingham Midshires, none of which accept D?D entries i don't think.
  • As previously posted First Direct make moving large sums easy.
I run a FD account as well as a HSBC account just for the ease of moving funds around.

But they are the same institution, would be strange if it was not fast ...

With Faster Payments Service I managed to send £30,000 from one Barclays account at one session. (At which point I hit their daily limit. It had to be done as 3 x £10,000)

HSBC were just £10,000 per day with FPS but you could set up runs of £10,000 per day over the ensuing days within one visit to their website

NatWest was £10,000 per day (don't know about scheduled future payements)
