  • Going off the point a bit, but what does the minus and plus mean in the context of DVD etc??
Also does that mean the speakers i should be (eventually) getting from staples will be compatible with the system. ;)

They are different types of DVD disc. (format)

Personally I always use -R though I could use either in my DVD burner (in PC). I have a Panasonic recorder which uses -R too.

Nothing worng with +R I guess - just that it's perhaps less compatable - ie perhaps not too many other players can handle it..... look into it.

Yes - I guess if you ever get the 5.1 system you could rig it in - the DVD recorder has the 6 rca jacks which I guess you'd be using.
  • Another point to add +R discs are more expensive than
-R best with a minus burner in my opinion

Just to add...DVD+ was devised by Sony and is their favoured type however my PC burner does + & - and there is no difference whatsoever on the final result.
