what do you use to clean the outside of cast iron multifuel stove

Please can you tell me what you use to clean the outside of your cast iron stoves. I keep getting white marks on mine when i wipe it. Can i use the old fashioned fireblack like boot polish or is it not suitable for these modern fires. I have a tigerplus stove (and love it) . I want to keep the black dull/satin finish it originally had. Any ideas greatfully appreciated. Thankyou.

We use Zebo - the tube has lasted so long, it's actually been superseded by another product in the meantime;

If its a realtively new stove DONT USE any 'blacking' for grates - the finish will be damaged - and it will look crazed once it gets hot! Most stoves have a tough enamel (may be mat) finish. Mine is slightly rough - and a damp cloth leaves white 'ash' marks... But an 'e' cloth or microfibre cloth damp on a cold stove works great ! Hoover first with the 'brush' attachment then wipe over - and no marks!
My stove (Morso) states that the use of blacking (zebo) will invalidate warranty on finish!
