Gas & Elec gone up from £34 to £71 P/M
i have noticed today that my direct debits for gas and electric through Powergen has gone up from £34 per month start of the year to £71 per month.
i only live in a 2 bed, everything been electric excet the bolier.
is this the norm?
i am on powergen standard and live in Buckinghamshire,
i have checked out a number of elec save websites and i would save money if i went over to Scotish Gas.
does everyone else have the same problem?

I'm also with Powergen...........3 Bedroom House.
£20 a month Electricity
£25 a month Gas
and that gives me a small credit each month.
Both meters are read by myself every month and then I put the figures on my Powergen Internet account.
(I did have a big problem on my Gas account a few months ago - which I'll post shortly !)
If at all possible - I'd strongly suggest you take the above measures on getting linked up to an Powergen Internet account and that you give monthly readings.
Better to spend a couple of months checking on the figures, than to sign up with someone else.
Hope that this helps.0 -
Don't forget that powergen prices went up at the end of August so it maybe the extra for having gone up.
As I was expecting about £56 quarterly dual fuel bill. It was £71  as prices for gas and electric had gone up. Readings are all correct as I took them and also take them monthly anyway.
And miss stupid here missed seeing they where going up. So I am changing suppliers.
