Hi,
I'm going to be honest, as both an Icesave and KE user I've been F5'ing this forum quite frantically for the past few days, not in a panic as such, just trying to keep up to date with what's been going on, and honestly? It's been an absolute nightmare.
Heaps of threads, all from varying dates, conflicting information, out-dated threads being bumped and misleading people with old information, nightmare.
This suggestion is going to be very moderator heavy and require a lot of work, but I think it's in everyone's best interests to get the information across coherently at times like this.
I propose that a new thread is created every time there's important information. The old one is locked, and all separate threads/posts are merged accordingly. Let me use Kaupthing as an example.
Kaupthing in trouble - People discuss the state of the company, post links to various media speculations and people can talk about if they want to withdraw their funds etc.
Kaupthing liquidated? - Old thread locked, here we discuss the latest goings on, will they be taken over? Will we have a repeat of Icesave? Can you get through on the phone? Should you even try?
Kaupthing taken over by ING - Old thread locked, here people would ask if they're savings are safe? Should they be concerned about the deal? What does the buy out mean to them?
Etc.
Like I said, it's very much an 'ideal world' situation, but it'd stop old information and countless threads.

Oh for the love of god, can someone please edit the title to say "A suggestion regarding the threads on here."
Thanks.
