Can someone tell me how voip works & which is the cheapest phone I can bye mydaughter has just moved to the usa for a year, and does she need to have the same set up as me. Thanks

http://www.voipbuster.com is good in my experience. Free calls to landlines in many countries. You have to pay €5 euros to 'activate' your account, to allow you to make calls longer than a minute. It now also supports Peer to Peer calls, so if you both have a copy of this on your computer you can use it without having to call a landline.0

https://www.skype.com is a good one.
I use it and find that its very reasonably priced, its alss free between two pcsI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
Vopibuster now charges, try Voipcheap (same company). Check out other treads especially in Freebies section, as there is a very long thread to do with free phone calls.0

Hmm, it's annoying that they're split the free calls locations between Voipbuster and Voipcheap, means you have to use two different applications depending on where you want to call0

There is SIP Discount, they offer free calls to UK and USA, is sister service to VoIP Buster and VoIP Cheap.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
