Virgin Mobile PAYG Bundles
I was thinking about buying a Virgin mobile airtime bundle, but looking at the prices I'm a bit confused.
For ₤14 I get 100 minutes, so 14p per minute.
Regular tariff is 15p per minute for first 5 minutes per day then 5p per minute after that.
So unless I make less than 5 minutes of calls each day surely the bundle doesn't save me anything at all?
Or am I missing something here?

Are you a Virgin Media customer.
They qualify for 300 mins and 300 texts a month for £10.:jYou're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't :doh:0 -
I think even when not being a virgin customer - the full price was £20 for 300 minutes which would still work out cheaper.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

You're right!
I didn't spot it before, but there's a "Liberty Sim" bundle that's 15.00 for 300mins/300txts, as long as you pay by direct debit.
Now that's more like it!0 -
MikeR371,
call 0800 183 9146 before 30.9.08 to get the Virgin 300/300 deal for £10/month. You don't have to be a VM customer...

How did you manage to get it for without a referral?
I have been with Virgin mobile for 8 years or so now, the kind of loyalty you'd think they would look to reward, and tried asking for the deal. No luck. I mentioned how long I had been with them and the tempting offers elsewhere. No luck. I found a mate with Virgin media to refer me. No luck. Nothing as simple as the code mentioned in the other thread, they refused to play ball with me unless my friend took out the contract in his name or we were both in the same place at the same time to take the contract out. That happens 2-3 times a year at most and isn't a starter.
I'd love to know how the people who have mentioned getting it without a referal managed to do so as I'll give it a final go on Tuesday when I get paid. Failing that, if anyone who reads this is a virgin media customer who fancies referring me for the deal, I'd be incredibly greatful.
edit: For free rather than without a referral? What the !!!! was up with my typing last night? That it was just before bedtime can be my only excuse0 -

I called the above number and spoke to a helpful and advisor who confirmed that you dont have to be a VM Customer to get the £10 per month sim only deal 300 mins and 300 texts.
The offer was a promotional one and should only be 200 mins and 200 texts but as it stands at the moment is 300 mins and 300 texts!!!
Excellent Offer!0 -

you can still get this offer if you are a virgin mobile customer .
I asked them to send me my pac code as i was moving to o2 because they had offered me the 10 deal . they sent me a tx asking to phone up before i left , they the 30 min for 10 or o 400 min and 400 tx for 15 a month . so give em a ring and see wot they will offer .

3rd time lucky. Having been given an outright no the first time and fobbed off when I had someone willing to refer me me, they have made the switch on the third call without me having to put up a fight.
I expect they have bought my custom for a while with this offer.
Now to try and keep my data charges in check...0
