i have noticed on my boiler tonight the low pressure light was flashing and its giving me no hot water or heating. i brought the pressure back up to 2 on my potterton boiler but within 10 mins it dropped back to 0, can anyone give me advice on what is wrong and what i can do.... from a very anxious lady

Most likely a leak in the heating loop.0

thanks for that, could you repair it yourself and is it expensive to do?Always look on the bright side of life!0

Most likely a leak in the heating loop.
Or more specifically go round all the rads and check the valves and any visible pipework for leaks or any sign of leaks such as scale.
Check the pressure relief pipe (15mm copper out through the wall) under the boiler.
Any water dripping out of the boiler? (silly question if the boiler is hanging on the wall with nothing around it, but if it's buried away in a cupboard or unit .........)
Halsteads are good at dumping water from the auto air vent out of the boiler case at the bottom left corner.
Happy hunting

Won't be cheap. Depends on how long it takes to find it. Have you noticed any wet patches on ceilings etc? Check all the radiator valves as they can seep although losing pressure inside 10 mins points to quite a leak.
It could be the pressure relief valve. Is any water coming out of the pipe outside sticking out of the wall behind the boiler.0 -

If it's coming from one of the nuts then try pinching it up with a pair of grips or an adjustable spanner although i would think it will need undoing completely and sorting out properly.

its looks like i bent the copper pipe on the radiator when i tried to put a cupboard in the wee space last night and did the damage, all i need to know know how do i isolate that radiator co i guess if did that then the pressure would return to normal on the boiler.. any ideasAlways look on the bright side of life!0
