Monday 1/09/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I have/will:
  • checked online banking
  • clicks
  • storecupboard meals
  • made a loaf in breadmaker
  • Picked veggies from garden
  • Swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • Shred paperwork and add to compost bin
  • Print off one of the 50% off pizza hut vouchers as DD is going with friends.
Have a good day everyone, soon come around to Monday again:rolleyes: . Brother is being sent home from hospital today so no more 50 mile round trips and car parking charges:D. We will be caring for him at home instead.
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

    Morning SophiesMum...

I did my prep last night and have my packed lunch in the fridge (work) and tomorrows in the fridge at home. I made soup so that is two/three nights evening meals organised.

This is the last week of my 6 week special membership so will be going swimming tonight and as much as possible for the rest of the week.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • morning all!!

hope everyone had a good weekend :D

we had an interesting time... OH bought me a breadmaker which didn't work so took it back:mad: . bought two dvd's from mr t's and they didnt take security thing out so couldn't watch them  . apart from that 'no more balls' day went fine on friday but now the young man seems a little confused because he knows he is missing something but doesn't know what!!!

have given up feeding cats pouches as they dont seem to finish them - now on dried food and half a pouch each in the evening:T

had a scary maggoty time last night!!! due to chucking cat food in black bin we had an invasion of maggots:eek:  . they were all trying to get into the house! had to hoover them up with the wet and dry hoover and then put washing powder all around the door to stop them getting in:eek:

    so... todays plans are:
    - investigate quidco for new breadmaker - done!
    - dinner is leftover chicken from yesterday - got 9p reduced wraps out of freezer and will use up salad and half price coleslaw
    - pudding is apple (from apple tree) crumble (my first attempt yesterday and was yummy:T )
    - go out and collect avon catalogues - fingers crossed for some orders! - got three orders all over £7!!! more to collect tonight when i go 'door knocking!'
    - OH has gone to visit children so he will have lunch there
    - write complaint to mr t's as had to go back with dvds therefore wasting petrol  - forgot to post but have put with avon stuff as will go past postbox later
    - night in with film now mr't's have taken security tag off

hope everyone has a good day!

    loki x
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:
  • A few things for me:
    • paid in some cash at my branch to try and make sure that the 3 direct debits I have going out today can be met (I was £3.50 short after the bank took it's account charge)
    • transferred £60 from Paypal to my current account (which will then go into my savings account as next month will be a toughie!).
    Will check Pigsback later..............
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Today I have/will:

    1. Check online banking
    2. Transfer money into ISA
    3. Daily clicks
    4. Post an item on ebay
    5. Do all searches via my search funds
    6. Pay rent ( boo! )

Curating a life based on mindfulness, intentional spending and saving.
  • Hope you don't mind, I'm going to start listing here too, think it will keep me focussed!!
From today onwards I'm making so much more of an effort than I have been, and hopefully it will start to pay off in a couple of months as I've been so naughty and it's caught up with me!!!
    Today I:
    * got the bus to work as opposed to tube which saves me £15/week
    * Having cereal that I bought last week for breakfast and lunch so not spending any money on food (hopefully will pay off in more ways than just money saving)!
    * two items sold on ebay yesterday so thats an extra fiver or so, know it's not much but I guess it all helps!!! need to buy some brown paper for wrapping items but that won't cost me much!
