Money taken off card so do company have to provide goods?

Bought some goods on the weekend and the money was taken off my card but due to high demand on the weekend their now out of stock and will refund the money.
However just to rub salt in the wounds AFTER placing my order I kindly recommended a friend who ordered EXACTLY the same item as myself and has had it delivered!
Out of principle I don't want a refund cos it's too easy for the company plus the item was such a bargain (£100 jacket reduced to £10) so where do I stand legally?
Lady at MBNA seems to think they can just refund my card but she didn't seem particularly interested!

Yup they can just refund your card, anything else is purely goodwill on their part.0

Unfortunately, it's the luck of the draw, and you drew the short straw. If the stock's gone, it's gone. At that price (£10 for a £100 jacket), it was probably a discontinued item.
I'd like a dodo, I think they're cute ... can I have one, please? No, sorry, they're all gone. No, we can't get any more in, not now, not ever.0 -
A business doesn't just refund for fun - it costs cold hard cash to do so - minimum of 70p + a percentage of the transaction usually.0
