Ok, that's a job for me and my son tomorrow I think (or later today now I look at the time!), will get him to stick his foot over the tailpipe whilst I try and spot anything - thanks for the tips guys

You only block the tail pipe temporarily for a few seconds at a time.

How did the emmissions go? when is your MOT due, it might be worth doing the full test early. A standalone emmissions test could be £15 - £20 Yes a ripoff!

!!!!!!! is this a bot? Are bots allowed?
  • Wig, sorry didn't actually get around to this with one thing and another although made it priority today but AGAIN! couldn't get round to it - however I swore to myself that I'd have this done by this week althooouuuugh ...... if you look at the few post's back from this one you'll see that KF themselves have jumped on board this thread and after phoning them I'm awaiting a call from their Operations Manager who I hope will take the prob onboard and get to the root of the matter once and for all. Turns out Budget and Kwik Fit are owned by the same group (which was a bit of a surprise TBH) but I'm sure there are more people now watchin this thread than members on this board (maybe not, but you get the idea!!)
Will keep you all informed as and when :)

(and no, it wasn't a bot it actually WAS KF)

i can save you the hassle of phoning them , they just needed to tell you your car also needs all 4 tyres, new dampers, springs , cv boots ,wheel alignment and any other tat they can sell you... just drop the keys and a blank check in the letter box at the nearest kf and they will take care of it

theyre the boys to trust!! ( or whatever the ad used to say lol)

Latest is I've been asked to take my car to another KF centre as the one I used previously is currently being fitted out with an MOT station and the manager at the new one will inspect it but the bottom line is they are prepared to get a genuine VX system on it if they consider the aftermarket one not to be doing it's job well, and by the sounds of it (them, not the exhaust!) they may possibly have already made their mind up on this one as I have a sneaky feeling the guy I spoke to now knows that Omega's and aftermarket exhaust's don't go well together. If this is the case I can't argue with that! Let's see though, I'm heading over there tomorrow and will post back :)

dont let em sell you new tyres while youre there lol

    good luck
  • nah steveo, already had to get them anyway
  • OK, an update to the prob so far. Took the car down to another KF and they confirmed that the exhaust was questionable on multiple counts. Having only 1 CAT was the first, wrong clips used to keep the damn thing up was the second (which would also explain why the exhaust is lower than the original) and a few more points besides. End results is Kwik Fit are now ordering me the complete GENUINE exhaust and will have this available for fitting early next week so definately a result here I thinks. Will obviously keep this post updated as and when :)
    Thanks all
