No change in rates. No cuts now before Xmas.
"Experts" split on direction of next move after Xmas. Small risk of a rate rise.
Depends on data between now and Feb - wage demands etc etc
So the shops (which always cry wolf before Xmas anyway) will have to get on with it.
That's a shame. A cut might have roused me out of my slumber. If I could have fixed below that magic 4% mark - 3.99% say, I might have done.
But I'll go back into hibernation now I think - regardless of where house prices go in the next few months.0 -
ive merged the 2 threads together as both the same information.
cheers

As a result of this no change various Mortgage lenders are pulling their current fixed rate products. This was confirmed by West Brom Building Society and she stated others would now be doing the same. She did say that they would not be changing much. Todays rate was 4.14% and nest week it would 4.39% - still not to shabby a deal.0

That sounds pretty shabby to me, to be honest.
I'd rather go for a -0.25 variable. There's still a glimmer of hope that rates might be cut in Feb - but again it depends on inflation over the interim.0
