in sept issue of the mag there is a offer for a free months gym pass (worth up to 55)

small print does say you need to provide cc/dc details for continuing membership but you can cancel during the first 3 weeks of the trial.
in the shops the mag is 2.55 or if there is a meeting near you you can walk in and buy one for 1.75 (saves 80p).

If you cancel then I would advise sending the letter by recorded delivery (if posting) and keep the orange receipt. It costs about 75p.
If hand delivering then ask for a written receipt with name of the person, date and time.

There are some gyms that consistently lose cancellation letters.
