Recieved letter in post from www.homeinsulationgrants.com saying i could be entitled to a grant of up to 77% on cavity wall insulation (cost £638 less grant £489 pay £149 ). It says it is a GOVERNMENT APPROVED INITIATIVE available for home owners to insulate their properties.
Has anybody had anything similar sent to them and is it worthwile pursuing the matter or is it just some sought of con.

start here to see if you qualify. yes there are free grants available, however some dodgy companies operate in the insulation game.
also depending where you live? can affect any grants. you must rent privately or own your own home.
also check out warmfront.co.uk if you are on a low income or any benefits.
bigger grants can be had from warmfront.
